Abstract

ABSTRACT In this article, we present a composite feed dual circularly polarized (CP) aperture-coupled microstrip antenna at L-band with improved characteristics. Two dedicated feeds have been conceived; one feed produces left hand CP, while the other generates right hand CP (RHCP). A prototype has been designed, fabricated and experimentally measured. 7.8% axial ratio bandwidth at each of the ports and in-band interport isolation over 18 dB without using power divider has been demonstrated.
