Abstract
- The article discusses initiatives by U.S. government agencies to consider the role of vaccines in preventing and responding to the spread of antibiotic resistance. Topics covered include vaccines' role in antibiotic stewardship, highlights of the September 2014 President's National Strategy to Combat Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria, and the uses of vaccines such as the Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) conjugate vaccines, pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, and influenza vaccines.
