Abstract

The article discusses a study which is conducted to demonstrate that haemophilics show high sclerostin serum levels and the reduced bone mineral density (BMD) and are at risk for developing osteoporosis and fractures. It mentions that pathogenesis of low BMD in haemophilics is multifactorial and includes immobilization as well as haemophilic arthropathy. It also mentions that correlation with bone remodelling markers and dual X-ray absorptiometry parameters.
