Books, Libraries and the Dominicans in the 13th and 14th Centuries.

The implementation of the fundamental mission of medieval Dominicans, defined by their Constitutions - preaching for the salvation of souls - was necessarily connected with the book culture. For the Order of Preachers the book became a work tool, as well as a powerful weapon in the spiritual struggle.
