Abstract
- The implementation of the fundamental mission of medieval Dominicans, defined by their Constitutions - preaching for the salvation of souls - was necessarily connected with the book culture. For the Order of Preachers the book became a work tool, as well as a powerful weapon in the spiritual struggle. For this reason, medieval Dominican libraries were playing a truly important role and were significantly co-shaping the history of this institution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
