Abstract
- An essay on philosopher Rainer Forst's morality of justification is presented. It explores his fictive account of an impoverished worker who seeks promotion, but was faced with skepticism. It concludes that Forst's political theory risks conflating the context-transcending independence of morality, struggles to demonstrate the link between the legitimation of human rights and the reasonableness of justice, and inability to avoid charges of elitism and metaphysical foundationalism.
