Abstract
- An essay is presented on the effects of terrorism on democratic values, civil liberties, and the rule of law, particularly in the U.S., as of January 2016. Also cited are the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the U.S., the securitization of the U.S. as cited by author Ivan Greenberg in his book "Surveillance in America: Critical Analysis of the FBI, 1920 to the Present," and the introduction of laws to prevent terrorism in the country.
