Edited by John Zorn, the seven volumes of Arcana plunge us into an artistic universe centred in New York in the vicinity of The Stone, Zorn's club at which avant-garde musicians both local and international can express themselves with complete freedom. For this investigation, we analyzed the literature element of this universe. Rooted in the creative process and interpretive practices, zigzagging between poetry and academic discourse, and spearheaded by the emergence of artistic individuality, this collection of texts written by musicians shows us a new way to discuss music in all its professional incarnations.
