Abstract
- The article discusses concerns over the risks of polypharmacy, drug-related adverse effects and medication interactions given the high rate of potentially inappropriate medications (PIM) reported among dementia patients. It cites mild cognitive impairment (MCI) as a critical period of time to initiate healthy interventions that reflect cultural differences and preferences to help ethnic older adults adjust to changes in memory and reduce the risks of cognitive decline and PIM.
