La tragedia colombiana vista desde el cine: Edipo alcalde (1996).

This paper analyzes the Colombian film Edipo alcalde (1996), for which starts with a summary of the film and exposes certain peculiarities of its technical information; then mentions his strengths and weaknesses to the critics; and continues to explicate the virtues that this films offers like a teaching medium for understanding several important phenomena for the humanities in general, and the philosophy of law, particularly. It also puts in evidence a wrong point of view form the traditional philosophy of law, with which Greek tragedies usually are interpreted, mainly Antigone and Oedipus Rex. This bias is very clear when it states, without more, that these two tragedies are the base of the modern philosophy of law, the one hand, and the support of the natural law, on the other.
