Abstract
- The article focuses on a tribute for Assia Djebar, a writer, filmmaker, feminist, and activist born in 1936 in Algeria, with the collection of essays. She produced novels, short fiction, recits, theater, poetry, film, an opera, and numerous critical texts and prefaces since mid-1950s. Her insistence that her literary intervention be grounded in time and place revives and transfigures a notion of political commitment.
