Abstract

The authors discuss the role played by the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) to the tolerance of plants to soil copper (Cu) contamination. Topics discussed include the significance of Cu as micronutrient for plants, the response of plants to Cu stress such as cell differentiation, plant growth, and physiological processes, and the accumulation of Cu in willows.
