Abstract

The article reports that Korean nursing education after World War II was supported and influenced by foreign universities and the U.S. military. It states that contributions by head of the U.S. Military Nursing Affairs Office Captain Mildred Lucka include public health nurse training, emergency courses and immunization. It mentions that in 1948, the U.S. Army nursing system was established in Korea and Korean Army nurses were trained to provide nursing care to wounded soldiers.
