Abstract

The entire mitochondrial genome ofGarrulax poecilorhynchusconsists of 17 814 bp and containe 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and two control regions. The nucleotide composition of the mitogenome ofG. poecilorhynchusis A = 5342 (29.99%), T = 4314 (24.22%), G = 2480 (13.92%), and C = 5678 (31.87%). The genome has an overall A + T content of 54.21%, which has a similar value among known genusGarrulaxmitogenomes. All the tRNA genes display a typical clover-leaf structure.Garrulax poecilorhynchusshare the closest relationship with other two species,G. perspicillatusandG. sannio. These data could serve to enrich the resource of genusGarrulaxin systematic, population genetic, and evolutionary biological studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
