Abstract

The article offers a commentary on the translabyrinthine surgical approach for treating giant vestibular schwannoma. Topics include the benefits of the surgical procedure includes the preservation of facial nerve functions and eliminates the need for cerebellar retraction, and offers the view of the author on the possible complications that the surgical approach to the patient. Additional comments from the author includes the importance of endoscope in locating cranial nerves during surgery.
