Abstract

Y-source impedance network is a new topology intended for implementing with high voltage gain converters. In contrary to the original Y-source impedance network, an improved Y-source presented in this paper has the advantage of a continuous input current characteristic. Since achieving high voltage gain and continuous input current, converters employing the proposed impedance network are suitable for implementing with renewable energy sources like fuel cell and photovoltaic systems. In this paper, analysis and operation principles of the developed network have been discussed. Moreover, mathematical equations and input current ripple analysis have been demonstrated in detail. Finally, both computer simulations and experimental results from a boost dc-dc converter are presented to validate the performance of the developed network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
