Abstract

This article presents information related to the development of paperless offices. Despite the predictions of paperless offices, one seems to be using more paper than ever, and the company Xerox thinks it is well placed to cash in on the trend. Its plan is to bridge the gap between electronic documents and their paper cousins and to make paper just as interactive and flexible as digital. It's an ambitious goal, but one that Xerox might just succeed in implementing. The gap between paper and electronic documents has never been wider. A prototype software written by Xerox searches the Internet or a local network for the original, digital version of a paper printout. INSET: PULP FICTION... AND FACT.
