Abstract

The cover story is presented which discusses the geological time frame under which the evolution of mammals occurred, referencing fossil discoveries of Mammaliaformes and mammal fossils from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. An overview of the evolution of the mammalian jaw and tooth shape is provided. The article references dinosaur evolution and compares it with mammal evolution, including in regard to mammal size.
