Abstract
- The article discusses the impact that the election of the former mayor Rodrigo Duterte as the Philippine's president may have on the country's economy, including on gross domesitc product (GDP) and economic development. An overview of the outgoing Philippine President Benigno Aquino's tenure in office, including his role in attaining investment-grade credit rating for the country, is provided.
