Practicing Engineers' Perceptions of Empathy and Care: Derived Exploratory Factor Structure from a 37-Item Survey.

The article focuses on a study which explores the skills and dispositions engineers should possess, specifically focusing on two attributes that underlie the National Academy of Engineering's habits of mind, empathy and care. Topics discussed include the concept of empathy and care, the principal component analysis of the empathy and care survey conducted, and the pattern and structure matrix for principal component analysis with oblimin rotation.
