- The article discusses the molecular aspects of animal and plant innate immunity. It examines the immune sensing of lipopolysaccharide in plant and animals. It mentions the recognition of pathogen-associated (PAMPs) and host-derived damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) in animals and plants using germline-encoded pattern recognition receptors (PRRs).
