- The article presents the author's views on the use of storytelling by scientists to help them write abstracts for grant proposals, and mentions that the author has applied for a competitive grant. Topics discussed include the book "Houston, We Have a Narrative: Why Science Needs Story" written by filmmaker Randy Olson focusing on storytelling and explaining the use of communication in science; and the book "Four Steps to Funding" written by Morgan Giddings.
