Abstract
- The authors discuss the importance of regular physical activity in improving the quality and quantity of life. Topics covered include the number of calories burned per week by brisk walking for twenty minutes a day, the safe performance of resistance training, and the health benefits of resistance training for middle-aged and older adults. Also mentioned are total daily energy expenditure accounted for by resting metabolism and improved appetite control with increased physical activity.
