Abstract

Introduction. The study discusses the use of Twitter in politics and its evolution towards a communicative model based more on images than content. Method. This research makes a qualitative analysis that aims images published in the social network Twitter by major Spanish political parties and leaders, during the debate of the State of the Nation held between 24th and 25th February 2015. Results. The data shows a progressive increase in political communication images on Twitter and view their categories. Conclusions. The study states that images are more important than the text itself. In many cases, images are now the main vehicle for political communication. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
