The aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of social relations present at celebrations in Minas Gerais during the gold. Especially the input of the new bishop of Mariana in the year of 1748 and the connection of this feast eminently ecclesiastical with the forms of socialization and organization of popular Catholicism festive connected to brotherhoods.
