Abstract

The article focuses on German chemical company Grillo-Werke's direct combination of methane and sulfur trioxide to make methanesulfonic acid (MSA). Topics include the methane's limited reactivity, reaction temperature, and statement of chemical company BASF regarding the applicability of MSA.
