Economia Política e Estudos Culturais: discussão teórica e uma proposta de pesquisa para o futebol.

Given the occurrence of two decades of debate between Nicholas Garnham and Lawrence Grossberg in Critical Studies in Mass Communication, when facing the formulations of the Political Economy of Communication with the Cultural Studies, this article of interest to rescue the details of this debate, proposing an approach that approaches the two schools. To do this, follow the proposals of Douglas Kellner (1997) and César Bolaño (2012), for we understand that some studies of objects need to be linked to both theoretical and methodological axes if the investigations dealing with football from the fan's profile changing with new arenas..
