Abstract

The article discusses the rise of three dimensional (3D) printing in food industry in 2016. 3D printing is noted to create unique, complex and edible shapes of food which does not impact the cost and time of food production. It also makes product customization more affordable and makes the process of mass production much faster in prototyping compared with other technologies.
