A Medical Application Integrating Remote 3D Visualization Tools to Access Picture Archiving and Communication System on Mobile Devices.

The article focuses on a proposed medical application to retrieve medical images from the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) on mobile devices via the wireless network. It discusses the access restriction to medical images and three-dimensional (3D) visualization results on PACS, the three-tier architecture of the application comprised of the mobile client, proxy server and PACS servers, and finding showing that the application offers acceptable quality of interactive experience.
