BIOSSEGURANÇA NA OPINIÃO DE ESTUDANTES DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE UBERLÂNDIA: UM DESAFIO BIOTECNOLÓGICO.

Biosafety involves preventive measures against hazards arising from the scientific and technological development, which are required in order to understand the new realities arising from advances in biotechnology. The present study aimed to demonstrate the importance of education in biosafety as a curriculum component in Biotechnology Course in the scientific education training of students from Federal University of Uberlandia. The analysis of the questionnaire applied has confirmed the reductionist view of the students in the first period, since it was only related to biosafety laboratory practices. The profile of responses given by the students has changed during the course and that corroborated to the importance of biosafety in the recovery of a science and technology education. Contextualizing in the classroom about biosafety is a crucial strategy that should be adopted in the training of individuals, focused in their interpersonal relationships and the environment and their professional judgment; inherent in the biotechnology concepts.
