Abstract

The article examines the equity-crowd funding regulation in Taiwan. Topics discussed include the Title III of the U.S. JOBS Act in 2012 that expanded for-profit crowd funding platforms to fund small businesses and startups; Taiwan's the Go Incubation Board for Startup and Acceleration, a government-sanctioned public equity crowd funding platform; and Taiwan's dependence on a high level of investor protection underlying local securities regulation.
