Abstract

The bug localization of large software system usually adopted the method of text similarity based on source codes and bug reports, but this method couldn't make full use of the source code structure information. In order to solve this prob-lem, this paper proposed a method for bug localization based on source code structured information (such as class names, method names, variable names, comments, etc.)and historical bug report information. It gave different weight for different parts of source code structure when it matched the bug report. In addition, the method also took the advantage of historical bug report information to improve the accuracy of bug localization. In order to verify the effectiveness of the method, this paper conducted a case study using the Eclipse project, and compared the results of the method with BugLocator and BugScout. The experimental results show that the method is better than BugLocator and BugScout in efficiency and accuracy of the bug locali-zation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
