Abstract

The article reports how distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks in quarter 2 declined in the U.S. In the second quarter, the average peak attack size was reported at 17.37G bps, which is a sequential decline from the 19.37G bps reported in the first quarter of 2016. Verisign reported that 64 percent of attacks employed multiple attack types, with 9 percent making use of five or more attack types in a combined DDoS operation.
