Abstract

The article focuses on the prevailing inequality of children's literacy learning outcomes in education at international level. It states that there are several reasons behind the inequality which include failure of families to prepare their children for school, failure of teachers to enhance student performance, and failure of teacher educators to prepare teachers to work in schools in culturally diverse and high poverty areas.
