Abstract
- The authors discusses summer dizziness as a neglected phenomenon of antihypertensive drug overuse in patients with carotid disease. Topics discussed include increased incidence of cerebral ischemic symptoms in patients with carotid disease during summer; cerebral hypoperfusion and transient ischemic attack due to sweating, dehydration, and antihypertensive drug overuse; and avoiding cerebral ischemia and hypoperfusion by decreasing drug dosage during summer.
