Abstract

The future of any country greatly depends on the quality of its educational system, and on what professors are able to do in function of the formation of the future generations. That is why systematic efforts are carried out at present to achieve graduations representative in terms of quantity and quality of education professionals. Cuban universities continually look for mechanisms allowing improving the formation of education professionals; a reflection of it is the aspirations expressed by the formation models. In spite of it, in the formation of Mathematics and Physics professors, there are difficulties that impact on the non-fulfillment of the demands expressed in the model of the professional and on the inappropriate levels of preparation of the newly graduate. In their study plan at the curricular level, several disciplines converge, among which Mathematical Analysis sometimes becomes an impassable barrier for the students entering this specialty. The present paper exposes the main aspects with difficulties in the topic Functions and proposes an own curriculum program to elevate the students' level of knowledge in the contents related with the topic, as starting point for the subjects of the discipline mentioned.
