Abstract

The article discusses the role that genetic diversity plays in preventing the extinction of the formerly endangered Channel Island, California foxes and Isle Royale, Michigan wolves from the early 20th century through the early 21st century. The wildlife conservation efforts involved in preventing the aforementioned extinctions, including moving wolf populations to Isle Royale, are discussed.
