Abstract
- The article discusses the U.S. Justice Department's replacement of the team of agents and lawyers investigating the death of Eric Garner, who died in 2014 after New York police officer Daniel Pantaleo used a chokehold, which the New York Police Department (NYPD) prohibits, to subdue Garner. Topics include a stall in the case due to the opposition of federal prosecutors and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials against bringing charges against the officers for violating Garner's civil rights.
