Abstract
- The article reports on the renewed series of attacks by the terrorist group Boko Haram, which pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization, in Nigeria and neighboring country of Niger, which highlights the challenges of eliminating the terrorist group and the resilience of ISIS. It presents the view of Commander William J. Marks of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency on the shift in focus of Boko Haram from Sunni civilians to military and Western targets.
