Abstract
- The article describes the case of a 74-year-old male who underwent total laryngectomy with a terminal tracheostoma for laryngeal cancer, with silicosis and end-stage chronic kidney failure, requiring permanent hemodialysis. Topics discussed include the result of his echocardiogram which showed a dilated left ventricle and severely impaired left ventricular function, the insertion of a flexible spiral tracheal tube through the tracheostoma, and the collar incision below the trachaeostoma.
