Abstract
- The article cites a case study related to a contact urticaria and dermatitis from self-adhesive pads. Self-adhesive pads for everyday use find increasing distribution, since they have direct contact with intertriginous skin, adverse reactions are not unexpected. A 47-year-old patient had genital pruritus and mild eczematous changes after having used self-adhesive pads for several months. Patch tests with the different layers of a pad gave a positive reaction to the layer which contained a fragrance and a disinfecting agent, Cu(II)-acetyl acetonate.
