Abstract
- A polarization splitter based on dual-core photonic crystal fiber with a gold layer is proposed. The splitter has a short length of 0.435 mm, and is capable of splitting an incident light into two orthogonal states between 1.48 and 1.72 μm. At the same time, a helpful conclusion is obtained: the variation of the thickness of the gold layer has a weak impact on splitting length and significant influence on the extinction ratio spectra. The polarization splitter can be modulated by changing the thickness of the gold layer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
