Abstract
- The article discusses civilian-military relation in Pakistan in connection with the nation's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the pending appointment of an army chief in Pakistan in the wake of the retirement of incumbent Raheel Sharif who is expected to leave his position on November 29, 2016. The Pakistani Army's control over the nation's defence and internal security policies is examined, along with ex-President Pervez Musharraf and political power in Pakistan.
