Abstract
- A new trinuclear Cu(II) cryptate ( 1 ) was synthesized and characterized by Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, single-crystal, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV–Vis spectra and electrospray mass spectra (ES-MS). Interestingly, there is one bidentate carbonate group formed by fixation of atmosphere CO 2 in the trinuclear unit. The magnetic susceptibility measurements of the sample indicated strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the Cu(II) centers mediated by the bridging hydroxyl groups in the cryptate.
