Abstract
- The article examines the sinicization of Uyghurs as of October 2016. The Chinese government has reportedly increased its efforts to sinicize Uyghurs which led to China's creation of contradictions of Uyghurs. Also discussed are Uyghurs' history in China, ethnic identity, Uyghurs' historical claims to Xinjiang, and the sinicization policy that led to Uyghur culture's dilution.
