Océano Profundo 2015: Exploring Puerto Rico's Seamounts, Trenches, and Troughs.

The article presents the highlights of the three-leg Océano Profundo 2015 expedition that was conducted by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Ocean Exploration and Research (OER) to study and characterize the deep waters around Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI). Among the activities is the collection of high-resolution multibeam bathymetry, backscatter, and subbottom data of the seafloor.
