In this article, the author discusses the importance of communication between pathologists and clinical and administrative partners. Topics discussed include making it easier to integrate pathology findings in the electronic medical record by synoptic reports; experience of understanding of cancer biomarkers and need for patient safety while attending the Cancer Biomarkers Conference II in Texas; and making decisions for laboratory tests to prevent unnecessary spending.
