Abstract: The article presents a response to Dr. Garvey's comments regarding the 2015 Diabetes Care Editors' Expert Forum on the prevention of Type 2 diabetes. Topics include lack of emphasis on medication-assisted weight loss as primary treatment as per Dr. Garvey; results from Indian and Chinese prevention trials; and shortcomings in his views regarding ignoring metabolic syndrome.
