Abstract
- An essay is presented that is adapted from a lecture at the University of the South in honor of the 2016 Aiken Taylor Award in Modern American Poetry, offering criticism of poetry by poet Christian Wiman. Poems discussed include "Clearing," "Elsewhere," and "Tintern Abbey." Christian aspects of Wiman's poetry are addressed.
