La nueva arquitectura de edificios públicos y los procesos de transformación de las ciudades cubanas.

The architecture of public buildings in Cuba experienced significant changes from the mid-twentieth century to the present, with a decrease in the quantity and quality of the works, which has led to the loss of references for this type of facilities in the country. This article presents the results of researches and projects that were proposed to study the development of works for health, education, culture and sport in order to define their trends in the period analyzed and to propose solutions for their future development in the transformation processes of Cuban cities. Proposals based on past experience, new approaches to public building architecture and current demand are presented. The works were developed in ten urban areas of the west of the country with the participation of students of architecture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
