- The article discusses political issues associated with the spread of fake news particularly on social media. Topics explored include examples of fake news that have been shared online following the election victory of U.S. President Donald Trump, the statement issued by Kim LaCapria of fact-checking web site Snopes regarding misinformation and politics in the U.S., and the cognitive biases that explain why some people continue to believe in fake news.
